Heat plenty of oil (at least 5 cm deep) in a pan over high heat. When the oil is hot, add the still-frozen Roman-style rings a few at a time so as not to lower the cooking temperature too much. Cook for 5 minutes, gently turning the product with a kitchen spatula until evenly golden brown. Drain the product on paper towels and let it rest for a minute; add a pinch of salt before serving.
